Cheikhou Kouyate and Amed SK part ways amicably
The Turkish club officially announced the termination of the Senegalese player's contract on Tuesday, 27 January 2026
Cheikhou Kouyate's adventure in Turkey was short-lived.
Having arrived in September 2025, the Senegalese international is leaving after around five months. He will no longer wear the colours of Amedspor, a club playing in the Turkish second division. His contract was terminated by mutual agreement, the Turkish team announced on Tuesday, 27 January 2026.
"Our club has agreed to terminate the contract of our professional footballer Cheikhou Kouyate by mutual agreement. We thank Cheikhou Kouyate for his efforts at our club and wish him success in the next stage of his career."
The 36-year-old Senegalese, who was without a club before moving to Turkey, will have to find a new home for the rest of his career.
