Charr and Pulev have announced the date and venue for their bout for WBA Regular heavyweight title

The reigning WBA Regular Heavyweight Champion, Manuel Charr (34-4, 20 KO), will defend his title against Bulgarian challenger Kubrat Pulev (30-3, 14 KO).

The matchup was officially confirmed during a press conference. The bout is set to take place on March 30th at the "Arena Sofia" in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia.

“This is the chance of my life and Kubrat’s life. I have been working as a promoter for 30 years and have always wanted to get to this world title fight in Sofia.” said Pulev’s manager, Ivaylo Gotsev.

Charr countered: “I am a fighter. I do not fight for money. I fight to leave a legacy. If you only fight for money, you are lost. Work hard and one day you will get everything you have dreamed of.”

In September, following protracted legal proceedings, the WBA reinstated Charr as the regular titleholder in the heavyweight division. In his last bout, the German fighter scored a knockout victory over Nuri Seferi. Meanwhile, Pulev secured a win over Andrzej Wawrzyk in December.
