A tense atmosphere surrounded the Lubumbashi city derby in the Democratic Republic of Congo between TP Mazembe and St. Eloi Lupopo even before the opening whistle.

Emotions among the fans were running high long before the match began. Some supporters even stormed the pitch, trying to "inspect" its condition ahead of kickoff, which sounded the first alarm bells at the stadium.

The teams went into the dressing rooms at halftime with the score at 0-0, but the start of the second half was delayed. The reason: clashes erupted between fans right on the pitch, forcing the organizers to temporarily halt play.

Meanwhile, the players of both teams were forced to remain in the dressing rooms, waiting for the situation in the stadium to stabilize.
