After Real Madrid’s defeat to Liverpool and a draw with Rayo Vallecano, a wave of rumours has emerged regarding the manager’s future.
Details: According to journalist Romain Molina, there are currently internal disagreements within the club and differing visions for the team’s direction. CEO José Ángel Sánchez reportedly asked Xabi Alonso to focus on improving discipline within the squad. However, Florentino Pérez and chief scout Juni Calafat were not in favour of this approach.
Moreover, some figures inside Real Madrid have already started to assess the coaching market—just in case.
It was also previously reported that during Carlo Ancelotti’s tenure, some players would fly to Ibiza after matches instead of returning to Madrid, skipping training sessions and doing as they pleased. Reportedly, those same players tried to repeat this under Xabi Alonso, but it didn’t work out this time.
Reminder: Cameras recently captured Vinícius Júnior’s reaction to being substituted, and it was later revealed what the Brazilian forward actually said in that moment.
