Change of referee for the Ivory Coast - Ecuador World Cup match
Michael Oliver is making way for François Letexier for this Group E fixture.
Michael Oliver was initially chosen to referee the match between Ivory Coast and Ecuador, scheduled for 14 June at 11 pm GMT. The English referee was to be assisted by his compatriots Stuart Burt and James Mainwaring. However, changes have been made. FIFA has announced that Michael Oliver has suffered an injury. Consequently, he will no longer be able to referee the match.
FIFA has therefore appointed French referee François Letexier to officiate the match, which will be played in the early hours of Monday 15 June 2026 at the Philadelphia Stadium in the United States. Letexier will be assisted by his compatriots Cyril Mugnier and Mehdi Rahmouni as assistant referees.
