Change of direction! Barcelona submit official offer to Al Hilal for João Cancelo

Barcelona are entering the race with Inter Milan for the 31-year-old defender.

Details: According to renowned journalist and insider Fabrizio Romano on his social media page X, the Catalan giants have made an official offer to Saudi club Al Hilal for Portuguese full-back João Cancelo.

Reports indicate that Barcelona are prepared to take Cancelo on loan until the end of the season and will partially cover his salary.

Earlier, it was reported that Cancelo was on the verge of moving to Inter Milan, as the clubs had already reached an agreement. However, the player himself put the transfer on hold to try and join Barcelona, the club he dreams of playing for.

Cancelo already has experience playing for Barcelona. In the 2023-24 season, he spent half a year in Catalonia on loan from Manchester City, who owned his rights at the time.

He made 42 appearances for the Blaugrana, scoring 4 goals and providing 5 assists.

Cancelo's current contract with Al Hilal runs until the summer of 2027, and his market value is estimated at 10 million euros by Transfermarkt.
