Champions League Group D: Benfica's fairytale win, Salzburg without Eurocups

In Group D of the UEFA Champions League, the sixth round of matches took place, after which we learnt the final positions of the teams.

The group leaders, Inter and Real Sociedad, which have already secured their passage to the Round of 16 met in Milan. Both teams played a 0-0 draw without tournament motivation.

The second game of the group was much more dramatic. Benfica needed to beat Salzburg by two goals, which was achieved in the first half. After the break, the Austrian champion scored one goal and retained third place. However, in added time, Cabral with his back to goal scored an important goal for Benfica, which helped them not only win today, but also take third place in the group.

For Benfica, today's win was their only victory in the current group stage, but it was enough to secure a trip to the UEFA Europa League. Salzburg came up just minutes short of securing a place in the second most important European competition.
