Details: This victory is historic for Flamengo, as the club has now lifted the trophy for the fourth time (previous wins in 1981, 2019, and 2022), surpassing Palmeiras in the number of Copa Libertadores titles won by Brazilian teams.
The only, and decisive, goal of the match came in the 67th minute—scored by Brazilian defender Danilo, who previously played in Europe for clubs such as Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Juventus.
This victory marks a significant milestone for Flamengo's head coach Filipe Luís, the legendary former Atlético Madrid defender. The Copa Libertadores triumph is already the fifth trophy Luís has won with the club in just one year. Since taking over Flamengo in September 2024, he has led the team to the Brazilian Cup and Supercup, as well as the Guanabara Cup and Rio de Janeiro State Championship titles.
