Central Córdoba Faces Setbacks: Angulo and Rivero Likely to Depart

Central Córdoba’s breakout campaign in the Copa Libertadores has brought more than just praise—it’s also put the club’s top talents in the spotlight. As reported by TyC Sports, two of their standout performers, Luis Angulo and Lautaro Rivero, are expected to leave the team soon.
Angulo, the Colombian full-back on loan from Talleres, is set to return to Córdoba. Talleres has informed Central Córdoba it will activate his recall clause following the player’s strong showing in continental play. With no option to buy in place, the Santiago-based club is bracing for his imminent departure.
Rivero’s case is drawing even more attention. The left-footed center-back has caught the eye of River Plate head coach Marcelo Gallardo, who sees him as a potential replacement for the departing Federico Gattoni or the possibly outgoing Leandro González Pírez. Chelsea has also reportedly shown interest, increasing the likelihood of a mid-year transfer or loan termination.
While Central Córdoba prepares for a crucial final Libertadores group match, its board is already working to retain other key players—particularly midfielder José Florentín. Regardless of how far they go in the tournament, the upcoming transfer window promises to be a defining one for the Ferroviario.
