Celtic sign former Barcelona defender Araujo on loan

Scottish side Celtic bolster their backline with the addition of a Bournemouth defender.
Details: Celtic have officially announced the loan signing of Bournemouth defender Julián Araujo. The deal for the former Barcelona player runs until the end of the current 2025/26 season, and the Mexican international has already joined the squad.
Previously, Araujo played in MLS for Los Angeles before moving to Barcelona B, though he never made his debut for the Blaugrana's first team. In August 2024, he transferred to Bournemouth for €10 million, but over two seasons featured in only a handful of matches and this campaign made just one appearance — in the English League Cup.
It’s worth noting that Celtic currently sit second in the Scottish Premiership, trailing leaders Hearts by three points.
Reminder: Manchester City have reached an agreement with Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo.
