Celtic Join Race for Viktoria Plzen Midfielder Cheick Souare

Celtic have reportedly entered the race to sign Viktoria Plzen midfielder Cheick Souare as they look to strengthen their midfield options.

The Scottish champions are searching for reinforcements following Arne Engels’ £22 million move to West Ham, while Reo Hatate’s future at the club also remains uncertain.

According to transfer reporter Lorenzo Lepore, Celtic are competing with Genoa, Monza and Getafe for the 23-year-old midfielder.

Getafe have already tested Plzen’s resolve with a €2.5 million offer, but the Czech club rejected the bid. Plzen are reportedly looking for between €3.5 million and €4 million for Souare.

Souare is one of several midfielders on Celtic’s radar, with the club also reportedly monitoring Torino’s Gvidas Gineitis and Hajduk Split midfielder Niko Sigur.
