Celtic has decided on a replacement for Hart
Goalkeeper of the Danish national team Kasper Schmeichel could soon join Celtic. This is reported by renowned insider Fabrizio Romano. Negotiations are currently underway between the parties. It's about a one-year contract with the option to extend for another season. He is set to replace retired Joe Hart in Celtic's goal.
Schmeichel spent last season at Belgian club Anderlecht but left the club in early July as a free agent. In 32 matches across all competitions, he conceded 33 goals and kept 8 clean sheets.
The goalkeeper also featured in all four matches for the Danish national team at Euro 2024, conceding 4 goals and keeping one clean sheet. Denmark exited the tournament after losing 2-0 to hosts Germany in the round of 16.
It's worth noting that Celtic, having become champions of Scotland in the 2023/24 season, have earned the right to participate in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League 2024/25.
