CD Leganés has announced plans for its first-ever preseason tour in the United States this summer, marking a milestone in the club’s international expansion strategy. The Spanish side will play at least three friendly matches in July as part of their preparation for the 2025–26 campaign.
The club confirmed fixtures against Louisville City FC of the USL Championship on July 12 and Richmond Kickers of USL League One on July 16. A third match is also planned, with the opponent and date to be announced shortly.
"This tour is a strategic step in the club’s internationalization process," said Leganés in an official statement. "For years, our International Department has been actively working to grow the brand in key markets, particularly in North America. Visiting the U.S. strengthens this commitment and represents a key milestone."
Currently fighting to stay in LaLiga EA Sports, Leganés sees this U.S. trip as an opportunity to grow its footprint abroad while preparing competitively for the season ahead.
