CD Leganés Faces Real Madrid with Yvan Neyou's Fitness in Doubt

CD Leganés will take on Real Madrid this Saturday, March 29, in the 29th round of La Liga, but doubts remain over the availability of Cameroonian midfielder Yvan Neyou.

Injury Concerns After International Break

Neyou suffered quadriceps pain during CD Leganés' match against Real Betis on March 16, forcing him off in the 75th minute. Despite this, he joined Cameroon’s squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers but did not feature in the matches against Eswatini on March 19 or Libya on March 25. His absence has fueled concerns over the extent of his injury.

Neyou's status is still unknown; some reports indicate a serious muscular damage, while others say it's only a slight setback. Regarding his fitness, nevertheless, neither CD Leganés nor the Cameroonian Football Federation have released an official declaration.

Leganés' Squad Challenges Ahead of Madrid Clash

Adding to coach Borja Jiménez’s concerns, Leganés will also be without Seydouba Cissé and Renato Tapia, who are on international duty. Their late return could affect squad depth as the team prepares for a tough battle at the Santiago Bernabéu.

With uncertainty surrounding key players, Leganés faces a major challenge against the La Liga giants this weekend.
