Maguire was clocked driving at 136 km/h (85 mph) in a 80 km/h (50 mph) zone near Manchester Airport on March 5 last year. Just two days later, he was caught speeding again.
For his offenses, the United player received three penalty points and was fined £666. In addition, Maguire must pay £266 as a victim surcharge and £120 in court costs. He has also been banned from driving for 56 days.
It’s worth noting that if Maguire had accrued six penalty points, he could have faced a longer driving ban.
The footballer was not present in court for the sentencing, with his lawyer representing him instead.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have confirmed they will activate the one-year extension option in Maguire’s contract, which was set to expire this summer.
