Details: According to renowned journalist and insider Ekrem Konur on his X social media page, Catalan giants Barcelona have set their sights on Arsenal and France national team centre-back William Saliba.
Reports indicate that the Catalan club is closely monitoring the situation around one of Europe's top defenders, but pulling off the transfer will be anything but simple.
The main stumbling block is that Arsenal's board has no intention of letting go of their star defender, and will only consider offers starting at a staggering €150 million. Such a valuation puts Saliba among the most expensive defenders in world football.
Barcelona face stiff competition from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, both of whom are also keen on landing the Frenchman. The race for Saliba is shaping up to be one of the window's hottest transfer sagas.
Last season, Saliba featured in 50 matches for Arsenal, scoring once and providing a single assist. The Transfermarkt portal currently values his transfer at €100 million.
