Casemiro could extend his contract with Manchester United, but he'll have to achieve the nearly impossible. What's at stake?
Casemiro's future at Manchester is shrouded in uncertainty.
Details: According to The Athletic, 33-year-old Manchester United defensive midfielder Casemiro has the chance to automatically extend his contract with the club—if he meets one intriguing condition.
The key lies in a clause of Casemiro's current deal with United: the contract will be automatically extended for another year if Casemiro starts in 35 matches across all competitions this season.

So far, Casemiro has started 18 matches, and Manchester United have 17 games remaining this season. That means, to trigger the automatic extension, Casemiro must be in the starting lineup for every single one of United's remaining 17 fixtures.
If the Brazilian manages this feat and Manchester United qualify for the Champions League, his contract will be automatically renewed, and Casemiro will reclaim his full salary of €18 million.
Casemiro joined Manchester United in 2022 from Real Madrid for €70.65 million. Since arriving in Manchester, he has played 145 matches, scoring 21 goals and providing 13 assists. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value stands at €8 million.
