CAS rejects SYNAFOC's appeal and rules in favour of FECAFOOT
The dispute between the Cameroonian National Footballers' Union and the Cameroonian Football Federation has come to an end.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected the appeal lodged by SYNAFOC, thereby confirming the decisions taken by the governing bodies of Cameroonian football. At the heart of the dispute were the resolutions adopted on 15 and 16 November 2024 by the Executive Committee and General Assembly of FECAFOOT.
These decisions had revoked the accreditation granted to the National Union of Cameroonian Footballers as the representative union for Cameroonian footballers. SYNAFOC had therefore lodged an appeal with the CAS to challenge the decision of the Conciliation and Arbitration Chamber of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of Cameroon, which had already rejected the union's appeal.
However, in a statement released on Monday 9 March, the Cameroonian Football Federation announced that the international sports court had ruled in favour of the governing body of Cameroonian football.
The Cameroonian Football Federation informs the public that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), in a decision handed down today, has rejected the appeal lodged by the National Union of Cameroonian Footballers (SYNAFOC). With this decision, the CAS confirms the regularity and legality of the decisions taken independently by the competent bodies of FECAFOOT.
