Carlos Tevez will make his managerial debut with Talleres this Friday at 8 PM when his team faces San Lorenzo in the opening match of the 2025 Clausura Tournament. As reported by TyC Sports, Talleres experienced a turbulent week after head coach Diego Cocca unexpectedly resigned just days before kickoff, citing a lack of reinforcements and strained relations with club leadership.
Cocca, who had signed with the Córdoba-based side in late May, left without managing an official game. The team remains in the relegation zone and has not added new signings during the transfer window. Only Luis Angulo and Luis Sequeira returned from loan spells, while Cristian Tarragona, Blas Riveros, and Tomás Cardona departed. Midfielders Matías Galarza and Juan Portillo are rumored to be on River Plate’s radar.
San Lorenzo arrive with momentum after a penalty shootout win over Quilmes in the Copa Argentina. It marked Damián Ayude’s debut as first-team coach following Miguel Ángel Russo’s departure to Boca. The club hasn't brought in new players but could regain defenders Jhohan Romaña and Gastón Hernández. Iker Muniain retired, while Braida and Irala also left the squad. Domínguez and Landstatter are ruled out for the match.
