On Friday, August 2nd, the first semifinal match of the Olympic tennis tournament took place. Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz faced Félix Auger-Aliassime.
The world number three started the match strongly, closing the first set 6-1 in just 40 minutes. Although the Canadian began the set better, he could not maintain or build on his advantage. The second set concluded even more swiftly, lasting only 36 minutes. Alcaraz again took the set 6-1, thus winning the match.
As a result, in one hour and 16 minutes, Carlos Alcaraz defeated Auger-Aliassime 2-0 and became the first finalist of the tennis tournament at the 2024 Olympics.
