Carlo Ancelotti revealed his biggest mistake at Real Madrid
Carlo Ancelotti has opened up about the biggest mistake of his career at Real Madrid. The coach admitted that disputes over his salary were the reason he failed to extend his contract with the club in 2014.
Quote."It’s impossible to make only the right decisions over thirty years. For example, I made a mistake here in Madrid, after my first season. I was very close to extending my contract, the club wanted to keep me, but I pushed too hard regarding my salary, and they stopped.
It was a mistake — the biggest one I could have made. But it taught me a lot," the coach said.
Reminder. The Italian coach is currently in his second stint at the club, having left Real Madrid in 2015 and returned in 2021. During his time at the Madrid club, Ancelotti has led the team to 14 trophies, including two La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues.
