Carlo Ancelotti identifies Brazil’s main problem
Carlo Ancelotti has taken charge of the Brazil national team, guided them to qualification for the 2026 World Cup, and is now preparing the squad for the tournament. However, he has already identified a key issue.
Details: In an interview with SBT Sports, the Italian manager stated that the team is currently lacking something it never used to — full-backs. Brazil once had players like Marcelo and Cafu, but that level of quality is now missing.
Quote: “We are lacking something that was never lacking before — defenders. Brazil used to have Marcelo and Cafu. Now we are a bit short in that area,” Ancelotti explained.
Brazil will face France in a friendly match on Thursday, March 26, with kick-off at 21:00 CET. They will then take on Croatia.
At the World Cup, Brazil will be drawn in the same group as Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland.
Reminder: In a recent interview, 31-year-old Paris Saint-Germain centre-back and Brazil international Marquinhos admitted he would like to see Neymar in the Brazil squad for the 2026 World Cup.
