Caring for the players. Important change has been made to the regulations of the Spanish Super Cup
In 2025, the Spanish Super Cup will once again take place in Saudi Arabia, but the Royal Spanish Football Federation has introduced a significant rule change for the tournament.
Details: According to the federation's official website, overtime will be completely eliminated in the upcoming edition. If teams are tied at the end of regular time, the match will go straight to a penalty shootout.
This decision is aimed at reducing the physical strain on players.
The Spanish Super Cup is set to begin on January 8. In the semifinals, Real Madrid will face Mallorca, while Barcelona will take on Athletic Bilbao.
The final will be held on January 12.
Real Madrid are the current holders of the Spanish Super Cup.
Reminder: Today, another player voiced concerns about the demanding match schedule—Chelsea and Spain left-back Marc Cucurella.
