Cardoso brings order. Mamelodi Sundowns set to part ways with two players

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso continues his sweeping squad overhaul, reaffirming the club’s commitment to renewal. According to The Citizen, two recent recruits are set to leave the team this summer.
Defender Lucas Suarez, who joined Sundowns on loan from Argentine side Talleres in January 2025, will return to South America. Although the South African club had the option to make his move permanent, they have decided not to exercise this right.
The future of midfielder Kobamelo Kodisang is also in doubt. Despite having one year left on his five-year deal, Cardoso does not see a place for him in his system. Reports suggest his issues extend beyond the pitch—which is why he barely featured towards the end of the season. It appears a comeback is off the cards, and parting ways with the club is just a matter of time.
