Cape Verde’s national team head coach denies rumours of a move to RS Berkane

Bubista admits to having received offers both before and after the 2026 World Cup, but reaffirms his commitment to the Cape Verdean national team.

Rumours have circulated in recent days that the Cape Verde national team manager was on the verge of taking charge of a Moroccan club. It was claimed he was set to leave his post as manager of the Blue Sharks to become manager of RS Berkane.

However, Bubista has put an end to the rumours. Speaking to a local media outlet, the Cape Verdean manager acknowledged that he had been approached on several occasions, both before and after the World Cup, but stated that his wish was to continue his journey with the Cape Verdean national team.

Bubista has been in charge of the Cape Verde national team since January 2020. He made history with the Sharks. He led Cape Verde to their first-ever World Cup qualification. At the tournament, which was held in the United States, Canada and Mexico this summer, the Blue Sharks impressed with solid performances and reached the knockout stages on their debut.
