Cape Verde Withdraw from Super Falcons Friendlies Ahead of 2026 WAFCON

Cape Verde have officially pulled out of their planned international friendly matches against Nigeria’s Super Falcons.

Reports that emerged on Thursday confirmed the withdrawal, with the fixtures initially arranged as part of the build-up to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The friendlies were expected to offer both sides valuable match fitness and tactical preparation ahead of the tournament.

The two encounters had been scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 15, and Saturday, April 18, at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
