Following the announcement of the squad list for the tournament, the Blue Sharks will continue their preparations.

Cape Verde wants to prepare properly for its first-ever appearance at the World Cup. The Cape Verdean team will therefore begin a training camp running from 20 to 24 May.

The Cape Verde national team delegation will then travel to Portugal, where the Blue Sharks will play an international friendly. This match will be against Serbia on 31 May at the Restelo Stadium. The second friendly match will be played in the United States. This fixture will see Cape Verde take on Bermuda, a few days before the World Cup kicks off on 11 June.

During the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico, Cape Verde will face Spain, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia in Group H.
