Cape Town Spurs withdraw their High Court application against Durban City FC

Cape Town Spurs have abandoned their High Court appeal regarding Durban City FC's promotion, bringing closure to the protracted dispute.
The Urban Warriors had initially contested Durban City's final league victory, alleging midfielder Saziso Magawana was ineligible. Their 1-0 defeat in that decisive match secured Durban City's automatic promotion, prompting the PSL to withhold the trophy pending legal resolution.
After the PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber, chaired by Raymond Hack, dismissed Spurs' protest and ordered them to pay costs, the club pursued arbitration through SAFA. Multiple arbitrators recused themselves before Hilton Epstein SC ultimately upheld Durban City's position.
With the legal process concluded, Durban City were formally presented with the NFD trophy at SuperSport TV studios last week. Spurs' withdrawal of their High Court application finalizes the matter, confirming Durban City's promotion.
