In the 32nd round of the Saudi Pro League, held on Friday, May 16, Al-Nassr hosted Al-Taawoun on their home turf.
For this clash, the hosts were without their talisman and main star, Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite his absence, Al-Nassr still entered the match as favorites. But they couldn't live up to that status on the pitch.
Al-Nassr dominated possession throughout the match—both in the first and second halves. The hosts broke the deadlock early in the second half: Otávio opened the scoring and put his side ahead. However, they failed to build on their slim advantage and, in fact, let it slip away.
In the 70th minute, Al-Taawoun found the equalizer. There was no response from Al-Nassr. Without Cristiano Ronaldo, the team drops points and misses the chance to climb to third place in the Pro League standings.
