Last night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, USA, a boxing event took place, featuring several intriguing bouts that excited fans.

In the main event, unified super middleweight world champion, Mexican fighter Saúl Canelo Álvarez, faced Puerto Rican contender Edgar Berlanga.

The fight was intense from the start. In the third round, Canelo knocked Berlanga down, but the latter got up, and Canelo’s attempts to knock him down again proved unsuccessful. In the seventh round, Berlanga found himself on the canvas once more, but this time due to his own mistake, as he overcommitted to a punch, missed, and fell.

In the eleventh round, Canelo nearly paid the price for showboating. Towards the end of the round, he began walking to his corner before the bell, and the contender seized the opportunity to land a punch. Though the shot grazed Canelo, it wobbled his legs, but he managed to stay on his feet.

In the final round, Berlanga likely performed his best, but the winner had to be determined by the judges. After a brief tally, it was revealed that Canelo won by a landslide – 117-110, 119-109, and 119-109.

The second most significant fight of the night was between WBA middleweight champion, Cuban Erislandy Lara, and two-division champion, American Danny García.

Fans began booing from the early moments of the fight, as the boxers hardly threw any punches. It was a dull and drawn-out affair. In the end, the bout was decided in the last seconds of the ninth round. García went down on one knee, and after the bell, his father and trainer signaled to the referee that they were withdrawing from the fight.

In total, there were ten bouts during the Las Vegas boxing night, and the Dailysports team has provided the results of all the fights.
