The Australian side demanded unreasonable conditions for hosting the match.
Details: According to SkySports, the Serie A Round 24 fixture between Milan and Como, which was scheduled to be played in Australia, has now been cancelled due to the Australian side's actions.
At this moment, there is no official explanation regarding the true reason for this decision. However, insider Nicolò Schira reports that one of the reasons behind the cancellation was the financial demands imposed by the Asian Football Confederation, which the Italian side considered unfair.
Earlier, Serie A president Ezio Simonelli confirmed that the match between Milan and Como would indeed take place in Australia:
“We had doubts about the conditions required to host the match in Perth, but 'Collina' gave us guarantees regarding the Asian referees. That reassured us,” he told Mediaset.
However, as we can see, everything changed in a matter of days.
At this moment, it is unknown where the Milan vs. Como match will actually be played, since San Siro will be hosting the Winter Olympic Games at that time.
