Rosario Central made a surprise move ahead of their clash with Platense, dropping forward Jaminton Campaz from the traveling squad due to a contractual dispute. According to TyC Sports, the Colombian was sidelined following a disagreement between his representatives and the club’s management regarding an unpaid signing bonus from his most recent contract extension.

Sources close to the player claim that Central only made a partial payment when the new deal was signed in February. As talks stalled, Campaz’s camp reportedly pushed for the remaining amount, prompting the board to consider the demand excessive and remove him from the trip to Buenos Aires.

Campaz took to Instagram with a message to his teammates, writing: “Blessings to the squad and a great match,” keeping a low profile while tensions rise behind the scenes.

This isn’t the first time Campaz has been at odds with the club over contractual matters. Early in 2024, after Central finalized a loan deal with Gremio including a purchase option, Campaz refused to train until the terms of his individual deal were improved. That impasse lasted over a month before a resolution was reached.

With Central already qualified for the Apertura playoffs, the decision to sideline Campaz—for now only for this match—gives the club some breathing room. However, resolving the matter quickly will be crucial, as they cannot afford further distractions heading into the knockout stage. Ariel Holan will also be without Maximiliano Lovera due to injury, and Tomás O’Connor, whose absence remains unexplained.
