Camp Update: Fredrick, Awaziem Join Super Eagles in Rabat as Preparations Begin
The Super Eagles’ camp in Rabat is beginning to fill up as preparations continue for Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff against Gabon. As of Monday morning, ten players had reported for duty, according to allnigeriasoccer.com.
New arrivals include Al-Kholood defender William Troost-Ekong, Brentford loanee Benjamin Fredrick, and Nantes star Chidozie Awaziem. They join Fulham trio Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Samuel Chukwueze, along with Tolu Arokodare, Olakunle Olusegun, Wilfred Ndidi, and Moses Simon.
Eleven more players are expected to link up with the squad later on Monday as the team intensifies preparations for the decisive tie against Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s Gabon.
Those yet to arrive include Stanley Nwabali, Maduka Okoye, Semi Ajayi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Zaidu Sanusi, Ademola Lookman, and Victor Osimhen among others.
Nigeria will take on Gabon in Rabat on Thursday, with victory securing a spot in the African playoff final against either Cameroon or DR Congo on November 16.
