Camp Nou has been under reconstruction for several years and is now nearing its grand reopening, but complications have arisen around the renovation project.
Details: According to El Periódico, a subcontractor working on the Camp Nou project could face a significant fine for fraud, having been accused of 218 violations of labour laws. The company may be ordered to pay up to two million euros.
During the reconstruction, authorities uncovered instances of unpaid wages, excessively long working hours, and the employment of undocumented foreign workers.
Recently, Barcelona president Joan Laporta visited the renovated stadium and remarked that it would be wonderful to see Lionel Messi play there again.
Reminder: The game with Bruges ended in a 3:3 draw. It wasn’t the only controversial incident of the night — the referees had earlier overturned a penalty awarded against Barcelona.
