Cameroon’s U17 Lions begin their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Qatar

Cameroon’s U17 national team has been on a training camp for the past few days at the FECAFOOT Technical Centre in Odza under the guidance of head coach LIBIIH Thomas.

A total of 43 players have turned up for this training camp. For this training camp, the manager of Cameroon’s U17 national team, LIBIIH Thomas, and his coaching staff are focusing on several key areas.

This first away training camp, which began on 25 August, will last ten days. During this period, the coaching staff will assess the players in order to gradually build a competitive squad ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup scheduled to take place in Qatar.

The U17 Lions will have the opportunity to put themselves to the test this Friday, 28 August. Two friendly matches are scheduled. These will enable the coaching staff to assess the standard of the selected players.

At the FIFA U-17 World Cup, Cameroon will compete in Group K. The Young Lions will face Mexico, Romania and Venezuela.

The World Cup will take place in Qatar from 19 November to 13 December 2026.
