Cameroon will not be taking part in the U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland
Disappointment for the Lionesses
Cameroon’s U20 women’s team were knocked out by Tanzania in the second leg of the final round of African qualifiers.
The Cameroonian side had, however, put themselves in a strong position to qualify in the first leg. Hassane Balla’s team had won 3-1 against Tanzania. But the tide turned in the return leg this Sunday 10 May.
The Cameroonian women were soundly beaten by the Tanzanians 2-0. Mary Aaron and Hasnath Ubamba sealed Tanzania’s victory with a goal each. Lacking in efficiency, the U20 Lionesses saw their World Cup dream slip away.
Tanzania has thus secured its place at the 2026 U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
