Cameroon: Patrice Carteron to replace Marc Brys?

The Cameroon national team coach could leave his post after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). According to the latest reports, Marc Brys could be replaced by Patrice Carteron.

Marc Brys could leave the helm of Cameroon's Indomitable Lions after the 2025 AFCON. He is expected to be replaced by Patrice Carteron.

Marc Brys, who took over the Indomitable Lions in April 2024, has managed 15 matches and only one defeat. Despite the conflict between Brys and the Cameroonian Football Federation, the coach successfully led the team to qualification for the 2025 AFCON. While Patrice Carteron is being touted as the next Cameroon coach, the Frenchman is well-versed in African football.

He led Mali to a bronze medal at the 2013 AFCON. He has also managed clubs on the continent and has won several titles. With TP Mazembe, he won the CAF Champions League in 2015 before winning the CAF Super Cup in 2019 and 2020. He previously managed Raja Casablanca and then Zamalek SC. Currently, Patrice Carteron is the manager of Umm Salal SC in Qatar.
