A major scandal has unfolded in the Cameroonian football championship. The country's football federation has suspended 62 players from participating in matches.

These players are suspected of identity fraud and concealing their true ages. Among the suspended is the midfielder from Victoria United, Nathan Wilfried Douala, who was included in Cameroon's squad for the 2023 African Cup of Nations. According to his passport, he is 17 years old, but his appearance suggests he is significantly older.

However, Douala did not play in any matches during the tournament.

Out of the 19 teams in the top tier of the Cameroonian championship, only 4 have not had potential violators identified. Clubs have the right to provide the necessary documents and appeal the punishment within 72 hours.

The regular season of the Cameroonian championship has already concluded, and teams have been divided into two groups based on their performance. Eight teams will compete for the championship, while the other eleven will battle for survival.
