Cameroon's professional football leaders do not want to treat any case lightly in the 2025-26 Elite One championship season. Following the temporary suspension of the referees for the Victoria United – Bamenda match on Monday 26 January 2026, two officials from another match in the first round of Elite One 2025-26, which kicked off on Saturday 24 January, have been suspended.

In a decision published by the Cameroon Football Federation on Tuesday 27 January, the competent authorities of the Cameroonian championship provisionally suspended Mendouga Marthe and Wilfried Ondoa, respectively match commissioner and media officer. They are accused of an administrative irregularity concerning Stade Renard player Ramadan Ngoube Abou.

" It has been established that the player Ramadan Ngoube Abou, registered with Stade Renard de Melong and assigned the number 10 jersey for the 2025-2026 season, took part in the aforementioned match wearing the number 10 jersey bearing the name ‘Ako’, a player who is not registered with Stade Renard de Melong for the current season.

Such a breach, which is unacceptable at this level of competition, constitutes a clear violation of the administrative and organisational rules in force. As such, the case will be referred to the Federal Approval and Disciplinary Commission, which has jurisdiction to hear it, with a view to applying appropriate disciplinary sanctions, both against the player concerned and the match officials, for failing to exercise due diligence and rigour in the performance of their duties.

Pending the conclusions of the investigation opened to determine the precise responsibilities of the various parties involved, the CTFP has decided to take precautionary measures, consisting in particular of: The provisional suspension of Ms Mendouga Marthe and Mr Wilfried Ondoa, respectively match commissioner and media officer for the match in question.
