The young Cameroonians beat the Central African Republic 1–0 in the final on Saturday 24 October in Yaoundé.

In a hard-fought final, the U20 Lions broke the deadlock thanks to Jean François Manguele, who scored the only goal of the match from a set-piece. This goal allowed Cameroon to take the lead and hold on to it until the final whistle.

The Central African Republic, however, thought they had equalised in the 36th minute. But the young Central African Republic players’ goal was ultimately disallowed by the referee, denying them an equaliser.

With this victory, Cameroon rounded off their flawless run in the tournament in the finest possible manner and claimed the 2026 UNIFFAC U20 trophy in front of their home crowd in Yaoundé.

Beyond this triumph, both finalists can also celebrate having secured their places at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations. Cameroon and the Central African Republic will therefore take part in the next edition of the continental competition, scheduled to take place in Ghana in 2027.
