Cameroon are concerned about Carlos Baleba ahead of their double-header against Namibia
The Cameroonian international midfielder picked up an injury on Tuesday 3 November during Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Roma in the Champions League.
Carlos Baleba was forced to leave the pitch after feeling a twinge of pain whilst accelerating towards the opposition’s goal. He immediately clutched the upper part of his thigh, near his hamstrings, raising fears of a muscle injury.
After the match, the Red Devils’ manager, Michael Carrick, made no secret of his concern. “It doesn’t look good. It’s his hamstring; we need to assess the nature of his injury,” he said. Medical tests will determine the severity of the injury and how long he will be out of action.
According to estimates, the Cameroonian midfielder could be sidelined for two to four weeks. This situation is causing concern in Cameroon.
Carlos Baleba could miss the Indomitable Lions’ next training camp, scheduled for the third and fourth matchdays of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Cameroon are due to face Namibia on 12 and 16 November.
