The Indomitable Lionesses and the Malawian women’s team have secured their places in the tournament by reaching the semi-finals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which is taking place in Morocco.

Cameroon and Malawi will take part in the Women’s World Cup, which is to be hosted by Brazil in the summer of 2027. The two teams have secured the last two direct places allocated to sides reaching the semi-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses secured their place at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup after pulling off a stunning victory on Sunday 9 August against Nigeria in the quarter-finals. The Cameroonian side knocked out the defending champions to reach the semi-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Meanwhile, Malawi have secured a historic qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The Malawians, who are enjoying an exceptional run at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, saw off Ghana to reach the semi-finals.
