The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is set to announce a final decision on the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) within the next 48 hours.
Speculation has grown in recent days that the tournament, scheduled for March 17 to April 3 in Morocco, could be moved. The competition will also serve as Africa’s qualification route for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
CAF’s Head of TV and Commercial, Luxolo September, confirmed that discussions have been ongoing and that an official statement is imminent, with the matter receiving urgent, high level attention.
