Whilst rumours suggest that the competition may be withdrawn from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, the Confederation of African Football has denied this.
According to reports, a senior official from the governing body has confirmed that CAF President Patrice Motsepe remains committed to the project and continues to support the organisation in the three countries: Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
The competition will therefore go ahead in East Africa with the backing of heads of state and CAF member associations. Support is in place to ensure that the tournament takes place as planned and under the best possible conditions.
