CAF President Patrice Motsepe to Visit CHAN 2024 Host Nations
The African Football Confederation (CAF) has said that its leader, Patrice Motsepe, will visit the three countries hosting the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN): Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.
A statement from CAF on Wednesday said that Motsepe will start his trip on Thursday in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, then go to Nairobi, Kenya, and finish in Kampala, Uganda.
During his visits, Motsepe will meet with government leaders, soccer officials, and local event organizers in each country. These meetings are meant to help make sure everything is ready for the tournament.
Motsepe's schedule will include inspections of stadiums and training facilities, several of which are undergoing renovations to satisfy the championship's requirements, CAF noted.
This visit follows CAF’s second inspection tour in November, during which a delegation assessed various venues, including stadiums, training grounds, hotels, airports, and other infrastructure.
Motsepe's visit demonstrates CAF's dedication to making sure CHAN 2024, a competition that only includes players from their various local leagues, is successfully hosted.
