The African Nations Championship is just around the corner, and one team previously banned from the competition will, after all, take part in the tournament.

Details: The Congo national team defeated Equatorial Guinea in the qualification round for the African Nations Championship. However, that match saw Japhet Mankou take to the pitch—a player who was ineligible to participate in the tournament. The Confederation of African Football initially decided to disqualify Congo for this violation.

Nevertheless, according to Soccer Laduma, the disciplinary committee has overturned that decision. The result of the match has been reinstated, and now Congo will head to the African Nations Championship, which kicks off on August 2. In the group stage, they are set to face Senegal, Sudan, and Nigeria.

The African Nations Championship is a tournament for national teams across Africa, organized under the auspices of the African Football Association. Unlike the Africa Cup of Nations, only players who compete in their home country's domestic leagues are eligible to participate.

Reminder: Al Ahly is gearing up for their next FIFA Club World Cup match against Palmeiras, and one African football legend believes that the Egyptian club is capable of clinching a victory.
