CAF launches the countdown to the draw for the preliminary rounds of the 2026–2027 inter-club competitions

The governing body of African football has set a provisional date for the draw for the Champions League and the Confederation Cup for next season.

The Confederation of African Football is continuing its preparations for the 2026–2027 season. Having announced the dates for the various stages of both competitions, the governing body of African football has reportedly chosen a provisional date for the draw for the preliminary rounds of the Champions League and the Confederation Cup.

According to reports, the draw ceremony will take place on 6 August 2026 in Cairo, Egypt. This draw will enable the clubs competing in both competitions to find out who their opponents will be. As in every season, the preliminary rounds will determine which teams will progress to the group stage of the 2026–2027 Champions League and Confederation Cup.
