CAF Increases Prize Money for Champions League and Confederation Cup Winners
The president of the Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe, has announced a major boost in prize money for Africa’s two biggest club competitions — the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
Under the new structure, the winner of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2025–26 will receive $6 million, which represents a 50 percent increase compared to the previous reward. In the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, the champions will now take home $4 million, doubling the previous prize in what amounts to a 100 percent increase.
Since Motsepe assumed office as CAF president, the prize money for the Champions League winner has grown significantly. Over the last five years, it has increased from $2.5 million to $6 million, marking a 140 percent rise.
