CAF Dismisses Senegal FA Allegations, Reaffirms Fair Play Ahead of AFCON Final
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has issued a firm response to recent claims made by the Senegal Football Federation (FSF), strongly rejecting allegations of unfair treatment and poor organization ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final.
CAF’s statement follows a strongly worded public complaint from Senegal, which raised concerns over alleged organizational, logistical, and security issues in the lead-up to their decisive clash with host nation Morocco.
In its response, CAF emphasized its unwavering commitment to fairness, transparency, and strict compliance with established regulations. The governing body stressed that all teams competing at the tournament have been treated equally from the group stages through to the final.
CAF further explained that it has worked in close coordination with the Local Organising Committee (LOC) to guarantee identical conditions for every participating nation. Addressing Senegal’s concerns over training facilities, CAF revealed that once the FSF expressed dissatisfaction with the initially allocated venue, immediate steps were taken to provide an alternative training ground. According to CAF, the matter has since been fully resolved.
On the issue of ticket distribution, CAF confirmed that Senegal received its full ticket allocation in accordance with CAF regulations, dismissing any suggestion of preferential treatment for the host nation.
