CAF Denies Rumours of Free Entry for 2025 AFCON Matches
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially dismissed widespread rumours claiming that fans would be allowed free entry to some matches at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Speculation had earlier circulated on social media suggesting that CAF, in collaboration with the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), was considering opening stadium gates at no cost due to fears of low attendance at certain games.
CAF has since moved swiftly to shut down the claims. In an official statement, the continental football body made it clear that all AFCON 2025 match tickets will be sold strictly in line with established regulations.
“Reports of free entry are completely false. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets through official channels to attend the matches,” the statement read.
